King Stropharia Mycelium ((Stropharia rugoso-annulata)
SKU: KS Mycl2018
King Stropharia (Stropharia rugoso-annulata)
- is easy to grow: You will receive myceliated pasteurized straw and willow wood chips. You can create a "lasagna" layer with the base of cardboard and a layer of fresh (cut within 2 weeks) of hardwood chips. Then sprinkle the myceliated mix on these wood chips and cover with another layer of relatively new hardwood chips.
- is abundant: This year you will likely get a hearty flush in the fall but next starting next spring you will likely receive a spring and fall flush. All you need to keep it going is to move handfuls of the spawn to new areas and keep it well fed with fresh wood chips.
- is helpful in cleaning: This species breaks apart the molecular bonds of coliform bacteria often found in animals so it is a real help to keeping your pens, livestock paddocks, fowl runs, and watershed areas sanitary wherever their mycelium grows buffering above soil contamination animals may roam. They have also been shown to successfully remediate hydrocarbons present in soil via disassembling molecules and therefore can assist via enzyme solution applications where gas tanks are cleaned.
- is tasty and nutritious: Their stalk has the texture of asparagus and their rich flavor has been likened to potatoes cooked in red wine. It has a protein content ranging from 20-24% (dry weight) depending upon strain and growing conditions.
